The only bad workout is the one that is not done.
Glute and thigh exercises not only make you stronger for daily activities, they can also make you strong for other activities like running, walking, working in the yard and climbing stairs. The lower body has the most muscles in the body. Working these muscles means you'll not only build strength and lean-muscle tissue, but you'll also burn more calories. The bigger the muscle, the more calories it burns. Another positive! Strong legs give your knee and ankle joints support which may help protect you from injury.
Core exercises train the muscles in your pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen to work in harmony. This leads to better balance and stability, whether on the playing field or in daily activities. In fact, most sports and other physical activities depend on stable core muscles.
Total-body training works multiple muscle fibers and it teaches your body to function as a unit instead of a collection of independent parts. The idea is to focus on movements, not muscles. This is achieved by performing exercises that involve multiple joints that engage several muscle groups, such as the Squat, Deadlift and Bench Press. Each TB workout involves every muscle group and joint in a full range of motion that’s trained in every direction. These exercise programs also incorporate balance, coordination, stability and flexibility exercises to cover all aspects of performance.
Interval training stimulates several physiological changes that can lead to greater speed, and stamina. It also promotes weight loss when done properly. Intervals can burn up to three times as many calories than a standard workout session, even if the total time spent is the same. Due to the fast segments, the body is burning more energy, as it now has to move the same mass but at a higher speed. The fast-twitch muscle fibers also come into play during short, fast spurts of movement. These burn a higher amount of energy than the other muscle fibers because they work explosively. This also means that they cannot keep up the work for very long before they need to recover and more energy needs to be collected for the next round. Interval training also triggers the afterburn effect which is much higher after intensive interval training. The afterburn effect can last for up to 48 hours after training has been completed. This means that the body is still working and benefitting from the interval training up to two days later.
Foam rolling is a self-myofascial release (SMR) technique. It can help relieve muscle tightness, soreness, and inflammation, and increase your joint range of motion. Foam rolling can be an effective tool to add to your warm-up or cooldown, before and after exercise.
Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is a technique that helps people maximize the effectiveness of stretching without causing the sort of discomfort that keeps a lot of us away from it. The technique uses four basic principles: 1. Isolate the muscle to be stretched, 2. repeat the stretch eight to 10 times, 3. hold each stretch for no more than two seconds, and 4. exhale on the stretch; inhale on the release. The Stretch Rope will help increase flexibility in tight muscles by reprogramming them to contract and relax through a new range of motions. Flexibility and regeneration are vital components to a successful training program. The exercises performed with the Stretch Rope will help to relieve tension throughout your body and alleviate the associated aches and pains from the game of life.
